Ilorin–Omu Aran–Egbe Road: AbdulRazaq Secures Another Multi-Billion-Naira Project for Kwara

1 min read

Barely a month after the Minister of Works, David Umahi, inspected the newly-approved 42.6km Eiyenkorin–Afon–Ojoku–Offa Road facilitated by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq under the Federal Government’s Tax Credit Scheme, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday approved ₦43 billion for the reconstruction of the Ilorin–Omu Aran–Egbe Road in Kwara State.

The first phase of the project will cover 31 kilometres out of the entire 207-kilometre stretch.

Briefing journalists after the FEC meeting, Minister of Works Engr. Dave Umahi said the ₦43 billion contract is one of the major projects approved for execution, noting that the design will feature a full concrete pavement to ensure durability and long-term sustainability.

This development comes as Governor AbdulRazaq also recently flagged off the construction of the 15.1km Ojoku–Ilemona Road, further extending infrastructural development across the state.

The Ilorin–Omu Aran–Egbe Road is a strategic route connecting several communities in Kwara South and extending to Okunland in neighbouring Kogi State, serving as a key economic and transportation corridor for residents and commuters.
