UCL: Why I’m very happy beating Real Madrid – Man City coach, Guardiola
1 min readPep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, declared that he was “very happy” about his team’s victory over Real Madrid in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal match.
On Wednesday night at the Etihad Stadium, City thrashed Los Blancos 4-0 to advance to their second straight final.
Bernardo Silva scored twice in the first half, while Manuel Akanji and Julián Alvarez each scored twice in the second half to give Guardiola’s team the much-needed victory.
The Spanish coach claimed that because he supports Barcelona, Real Madrid’s La Liga opponents, he was extra happier shortly after the game.
He proclaimed, “I’m a cule and I’m from Barcelona, so of course I’m very happy.”
With the win, Man City is now competing in two finals; they will take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
The Cityzens are also in first place in the Premier League standings and are one victory away from winning the league.
Next month in Istanbul, the Champions League final will feature City vs. Inter Milan.
