No Female Police Officer Kidnapped, Murdered In Kwara – Kwara Police Command Dismisses Rumor

The Kwara State Police Command has dismissed as false the viral social media reports alleging that a female police officer serving in the state was kidnapped and murdered.
In a statement issued on Saturday, October 11, 2025, by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the Command described the circulating claims as “entirely false and misleading,” warning members of the public against spreading unverified information capable of causing panic.
“The Command wishes to state unequivocally that there is no report of any female police officer missing or abducted in any division in the state,” the statement read. “The report is not only false but also misleading, with the intent to cause unnecessary fear among residents.”
The police further clarified that there is no police division called ‘Ogidi’ in Kwara State, countering one of the claims in the viral post.
SP Ejire-Adeyemi noted that the Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, psc, mnips, remains focused on maintaining peace, protecting lives and property, and collaborating with other security agencies to ensure the safety of residents.
She urged the public and media organizations to verify information before dissemination, adding that the spread of fake news could damage reputations and undermine public confidence in security institutions.
