NANS Kwara Meet Management Of College Of Nursing And Midwifery In Ilorin
3 min readEarlier yesterday, the leadership of NANS KWARA under the chairmanship of Comrade Yusuf Abdulgafar who is popularly addressed as GËê~RóÕpHaI led some NANS delegates to pay a courtesy and familiarization visit to the management of College of Nursing and Midwifery, Ilorin.
NANS Chairman in his speech, appreciated the management of the above citadel of learning towards their wondrous administrative architects in terms of having stable electricity across the campus, good hostel accommodation for the students, a captivate and conducive learning environment and well ventilated learning classes among others.
Subsequently, The NANS’s chairman on behalf of entire executives and senators and as well the delegates that visited the institution, presents copies of the 5th Edition of NANS Acme Magazine to the provost on behalf of the management of college.
“On behalf of myself and the entire management of the college, we appreciate your leadership kind gestures for deemed it fit to pay us an official courtesy visitation and as well make presentation of the association acme magazine that encompassed my photograph and name in the page of head of institutions in the state” The Provost said.
Furthermore, in a strong bid and spirit of Aluta and rejuvenating the norms agendas we proclaimed, the chairman discussed some salients issues with the management regards to withhold of Students Union election in the college, low or no involvement of their students to NANS activities and programs over the recent years back and this such activities prompt to promote and arouse the students learning as well their entrepreneurer skills and lastly the reduction in the school fees of the students.
While responding to the request made by the chairman, the provost of the college “Once again, appreciated the concern of the apex association in the state and our visitation to the school, and for being a responsible and responsive association and also a scientific approach in addressing germane issues as regards to the association.
Concerns withholding of Students Union Election, there is an intra issues in the campus between some concerned body these were the genesis that caused the delay in the SUG election, but now, the management are on top of the issues and all rancor shall be resolve as swift as possible and very soon Students Union election will take place. Also, about the “Sensitization and mobilization of students to partake in NANS programs and activities”, Though the professionalism in the nursing profession are restricting the students to partake fully in extra-curriculum activities but in sensitization aspects, we’re using this medium to tell you that we have introduced a newly compulsory course that relates to politics which should be taken by all students in order to expose them more to conventional politics. And for the Mobilization aspects, we promise that only limited and interested students would be participating in NANS activities due to the nature of our profession which involves practical, posting and the likes. Moreso, pertaining to reduction of school fees, our school fees remains cheapest among the Nursing schools across Nigeria. All developments infrastructure, facilities, buildings in the school were produced from their school fees alongside with the subvention and intervention from the Kwara State Government, but the management shall also critically look about it and make, if possible reduction.
Lastly, the chairman appreciated the management for hosting the delegates of NANS Kwara on this productive dialogue with the institution heads and also, seek for further collaboration and partnership.
