Naira Crisis: Kwara Poly Postpones Examination

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin has announced the postponement of the ongoing examinations until the resumption of the second semester due to new naira note crises in the and violence in the school area.

In an official press release signed by the SUG President, Sen. Ishola Abdulsalam,  stated that the postponement is necessary to ensure the safety of the students and staff of the polytechnic.

It was gathered that there have been cases of burnt tyres and destruction of peace around Eleko Yakuba, along the polytechnic way, which has led to a tense atmosphere in the area.

The SUG pledge all students to stay safe and go back home as the the paper from 3pm today and all other for this week is prospone till second semester,as the union has taken full responsibility for the situation. They advised  all citizens to follow the guidelines stated by the government in respect of the Naira swap, and to shun violence before and after the election.

The postponement of the examinations has caused mixed reactions among students, with some expressing disappointment over the development while others praised the SUG for prioritizing their safety.

Similarly, the Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Jimoh Abdul, has commended the SUG for taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of the students. He called on all students to remain calm and law-abiding, while assuring them that the management is working tirelessly to resolve the situation.

Meanwhile the SUG has vowed to keep students updated on further developments regarding the postponed examinations.

The SUG however ,urged everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
