Mbappe scores eight-second goal, makes record

Kylian Mbappe equalled a 30-year-old Ligue 1 record when he opened the scoring after eight seconds for Paris Saint-Germain in Lille on Sunday.

PSG swept forward after kickoff. The move ended with Mbappe bursting into space, collecting a pass from Lionel Messi and surprising the Lille goalkeeper Leo Jardim with a lob to score his second league goal of the seasonn.

The goal matched the speed record set by Michel Rio for Caen against Cannes on February 15, 1992.
