Let’s not victimize Ilorin East LG chairman for honest, transparent politics: Actualization Team

Actualization Team, a political group committed to good governance, community development, and ethical leadership, has weighed in on the issues raised by the Ilorin East Local Government Chairman on Senator Saliu Mustapha.
In a statement on Friday, the group said the response by some people as well as the sponsored protest are akin to anyone trying to victimize Agbelere for his honest and transparent views about the political development.
“Where many people would choose pretense, double face, and hypocrisy, Agbelere chose to stand straight, firm, and honest about the mischief of the Senator and his praise singers,” the group said in a statement in Ilorin.
“We assert that the comment of the LGA chairman was indicative of his frank, honest, and unpretentious attitude to issues. It is an open secret that Senator Saliu Mustapha has made himself a black sheep within the party that gave him the mandate. This is an open secret that we all know. He is a man who believes that life begins and ends with him. He is a man who believes money can buy everything and respect for constituted authorities or loyalty to party count for nothing.
“Contrary to some misunderstanding, it is also to be noted that no hospital facility suffers anything, and we are at a loss as to why some people did not get this. As we write this, the Ilorin East Local Government is already fixing the hospital, which it had long put in its 2025 budget.
“But, as we have seen over the last one year, the approach of Senator Saliu Mustapha has been subterfuge, subtle blackmail, and seeking every opportunity to paint himself as a victim when in fact his hands are everywhere sabotaging the party and the state government. His boys are on radio and social media platforms undermining the APC government in the state.
Beyond using the name of the President to fly their showy empowerment schemes, they don’t defend or promote any project or policy of the state government or President Bola Tinubu. It is all about him and him alone.
“Had Saliu Mustapha been cooperative and truly interested in sincere partnership for development, his office ought to know where to come in for any project they want to sponsor after healthy collaboration and communication with relevant government stakeholders. For instance, he could have known that the local government had already budgeted for this same health facility and another could have been allocated to him if he had acted in good faith. Any how you look at it, the Senator has made himself a pariah by his own ‘notice-me’ attitude and how he tries so hard to gain prominence through subtle blackmail and subterfuge. The pushback he gets from everywhere within the larger party structure is his own making.
“He had a predecessor who from all indices outperformed him in projects, legislative interventions, and carriage within the power corridor. How Senator Oloriegbe achieved so much is a function of his effective collaboration and cooperative attitude with different stakeholders, regardless of the political issues that later played out and which Saliu is a beneficiary.”
The group urges the public to rather appreciate Agbelere for his forthright approach even if it is considered an abomination to be truthful.
“The chairman, as the list of his projects shows over the last few days, has been an achiever. His loyalty to the party and his demand that Saliu act rightly and honorably should not be misconstrued for anything against public interest. If anyone is acting against public interest, that would be a man who considers himself too big to respect party leadership and who always plays the victim card every time only for evidence to show his pranks.”
