KWHA Speaker Danladi Backs Kwara Poly Business Admin ₦500m Complex Project at 50th Anniversary

The Department of Business Administration and Management, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, on Wednesday marked its 50th Anniversary with a grand event that featured an award presentation, a reunion of ex-students, and the launch of a ₦500 million fundraising campaign for a new departmental complex.
The celebration, held at the Admiral Muhammad Alabi Lawal Auditorium, attracted distinguished personalities, including the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly (KWHA), Rt. Hon. Engr. Saliu Yakubu Danladi; a representative of the Commissioner for Tertiary Education; the Rector of the Polytechnic; the Director of IFMS; the Public Relations Officer of the institution; representatives of the Kam Wire CEO; past Heads of Department; alumni; and other stakeholders.
In his goodwill message, Speaker Danladi urged the alumni of the department to give back to their alma mater as a way of supporting the growth of the institution. He commended the department for initiating the ₦500 million project and assured that he would personally present the proposal to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for consideration.
“I want to commend the HOD, Alakoso Ibrahim Kayode, and the planning committee for their foresight and vision. The department has shown that it is not only celebrating its past but also planning for its future. Alumni must come together to support this initiative so that Kwara Polytechnic can remain an institution of pride,” the Speaker said.
Also speaking at the occasion, Hajia Raliat Yahayah, who represented the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Saadat Kawu Modibbo, lauded the Rector of Kwara Polytechnic for his developmental strides, especially in infrastructural transformation. She urged staff and stakeholders to continue supporting the Rector in his second term to consolidate on these gains.
She further applauded the Department of Business Administration and Management for the proposed complex project, describing it as “a laudable missionary initiative” that reflects vision and commitment. She congratulated the HOD, staff, and alumni for sustaining the legacy of the department.
Highlights of the event included the presentation of awards to the Rector and other distinguished personalities for their contributions to the growth and progress of the institution.
