Kwara sets up task force on fuel scarcity
2 min readThe Kwara Government Task Force on Fuel Scarcity, led by Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi, made a tour of several fuel stations metropolis today, to address the issues of fuel scarcity and ensure smooth dispensing of fuel in Ilorin the state capital.
The task force visited major filling stations that were not meeting the needs of the public and directed them to start dispensing fuel with immediate effect and under close supervision. As a result, the stress of fuel scarcity experienced in recent times has started to ease.
In addition, some petrol stations were found to be hoarding fuel and the task force seized jerrycans containing premium motor spirit. And it’s issued a caution against such practices, which impose immense hardship on the public.
Deputy Governor Alabi implored the fuel stations to support the government’s efforts to build a placid society. In a statement, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Modupe Joel, emphasized the importance of fueling the economy and meeting the needs of the public.
Meanwhile the fuel scarcity has been a recurring issue in Nigeria, with long queues at fuel stations and increasing prices affecting the daily lives of citizens. The Kwara State Task Force’s intervention has been well received by the public and has brought some much-needed relief to the fuel scarcity situation.
However, the Kwara State Task Force’s efforts to ease fuel scarcity and seize hoarded fuel have been successful in bringing some stability to the fuel market. The task force has set an example for other states to follow in addressing this significant issue. The public is advised to continue to exercise patience and calm as the government works towards a long-term solution to fuel scarcity in Nigeria.
