Ilorin East LG to Host Inter-School Debate for Junior Secondary Schools

In a bid to enhance critical thinking, public speaking, and research skills among young learners, the Ilorin East Local Government Education Authority, in collaboration with the Office of the Executive Chairman, Mallam Garba Olayinka Lukman Agbelere, has announced plans to organize an Inter-School Debate Competition for Junior Secondary Schools within the local government.

The Vice Chairman, Hon. Abdulraheem Nafisat, received the debate organizers in her office on behalf of the Chairman. She reaffirmed the administration’s strong commitment to promoting quality education and youth development across Ilorin East.

Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Nafisat emphasized that initiatives like the debate competition are crucial in motivating students to study harder and build essential life skills needed for their future.

In a related development, Hon. Nafisat also represented the Chairman at the daily briefing of the ongoing Immunization Plus Programme. Her attendance underscored the local government’s dedication not only to education but also to improving the healthcare and well-being of its citizens.

The Inter-School Debate Competition is expected to attract participation from various Junior Secondary Schools across Ilorin East, creating a platform for intellectual exchange and fostering a spirit of healthy competition among students.
