I Will Improve Welfare Of Civil Servant, Empower Farmers – Hakeem Lawal

Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal, the Kwara State Social Democratic Party (SDP) Gubernatorial Candidate, laid out his plans for empowering farmers, supporting local government autonomy, and improving the welfare of civil servants.

He emphasized the importance of forming farmers into clusters where 2-10 farmers jointly own the farm and providing them with the necessary seedlings, knowledge, and security. He also pledged to connect them with the market and create entrepreneurs out of the youth through agriculture.

In terms of local government autonomy, Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal stated that his government would prioritize conducting elections and ensuring that local governments receive their due. He also emphasized the bottom-up approach of his government and the importance of involving the people in decision-making.

The candidate also addressed the issue of civil servants, stating that they are not well motivated and that his government would prioritize their welfare. He pledged to pay leave bonuses and return Kwara to the old glory of paying a 13th month salary.

Furthermore, he emphasized the need to abolish the contracting of civil servant jobs to consultants and make the civil service effective, efficient, and optimally utilized as drivers and warehouse of government policies, plans, and implementation.
