Governor Abdulrazaq Splashes Cash Award On NSF 2024 Medalists, Clears 16 years Kwara United N201Million Debt

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State today rewarded state athletes who won medals at this year’s National Sports Festival held in Ogun State with cash awards.
Governor Abdulrazaq presented the awards through the state Sports Commission at a reception held in the Banquet Hall,
Gold medalists got N1 million for their efforts, silver N500, 000 and bronze N300,000.
He noted that with six gold, 11 silver, 12 bronze medals, the athletes have made the state proud.
The Governor explained that the reception was organized to acknowledge, celebrate and reassure the athletes and the future champions that the state and its people appreciate them and will continue to honour their commitments.
Governor Abdulrazaq pointed out that the cash award is a show of gratitude to the athletes who won medals for the state at the last Sports Festival in Ogun State and described them as heroes, heroines in their own rights.
The Governor also announced full payment of outstanding 201 million naira sign-on fees owed Kwara United ex players and coaches dating back to 16 years.
In his remark, Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji appreciated Governor Abdulrazaq for his unflinching support for the Commission and noted that since the inception of the sports commission, sports activity in Kwara State has changed drastically.
Mallam Mogaji reaffirmed the resolve of Kwara State Sports Commission towards producing quality athletes as the state groom its athletes and will not buy any athlete from another state.
Speaking Director of Sports, Mallam Ibrahim Oladele Bako identified Kwara State as best in terms of sports facilities as it host any sports event
He thanked Governor Abdulrazaq for his unwavering support to sport sector in the state.
Mallam Bako noted that the triumph of Kwara Athletes is a manifestation of Governor’s support and appealed athletes that played for other states in the last sports festival to come home to make their state proud
The event was laced with Goodwill Messages and symbolic presentation of cash awards to the medalists by the Governor.
