Gobir vows Irepodun to serve Kwarans, if elected

The Gubernatorial candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, Waziri Yakubu Gobir, on Wednesday, 21st December, said he is ready to serve Kwarans if emerge as the governor of the state in 2023 general elections.

The YPP Candidate disclosed this during his visit to the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti (fnitp), Olomu Efan II, Ilufemiloye in Omu-Aran, Irepodun LGA.

He noted that the interest of the state and the future of the country is paramount to personal gains.

In his words, “I informed my followers after the success of Otoge in 2019, which I played a pivotal role in the outcome. Shortly after, I observed the body language of the government we installed; and discovered that the purpose of the struggle is defeated. This gave birth to the flag off of YPP in Kwara, and YPP is a project for the masses — and we are ready to serve Kwarans.”

“I am not running to be governor because my father has done it before, and I also want to do it. I am not saying it’s my turn because politics is not by entitlement. I am simply running to bring governance closer to the people and chart a new course for the state’s prosperity,” he added.

He also noted his high regard for Kwara South, having chosen his running mate, Honourable Bolujoko George, from the district while the party Chairman, Chief Dele Ogunbayo, also a son of Kwara South.

While reacting to the visit, the Olomu of Omu-Aran commended the YPP entourage. ” I must commend that your party, albeit new to us, you are highly organised. Gobir is a household name known for their good character and reputation. All the masses want is a good life, which is what Gobir has been contributing to ensuring the quality of life for Kwarans.” The Olomu stated.

The campaign train also visited the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Irepodun Local Government branch under Pastor Israel Shola Ajewole, and the Irepodun Council of Imams led by Sheikh Sodiq Alalobo.

Gobir concluded the Irepodun tour by meeting with supporters and party faithful at the Omu-Aran 7th Day Adventist Primary school. He charged them to mobilise support for all YPP candidates in the 2023 general elections.

He however, urged party faithful and supporters to vote wisely at the 2023 polls

His entourage during the tour included the Kwara state YPP Chairman, Chief Dele Ogunbayo, YPP Kwara South Senatorial Candidate Amb Olanrewaju Abraham, the House of Assembly and House of Representatives Candidates for Irepodun constituency, and other party stakeholders
