Flag-Off Campaign Against TB, Leprosy, Buruli Ulcer: Moro LG Boss Commends Gov.AbdulRazaq, First Lady for Advancing Healthcare Programmes

The Executive Chairperson of Moro Local Government, Alhaja Mariam Abdulwasiu Omotayo, has commended the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, and the First Lady, Professor Ambassador Olufolake AbdulRazaq, for setting a new benchmark in healthcare delivery across the state.
Alhaja Omotayo gave the commendation during the official flag-off of the Tuberculosis (TB), Leprosy, and Buruli Ulcer Screening and Testing campaign held at the Moro Local Government Secretariat, Bode-Sadu, today.
She praised the Kwara government’s commitment to health sector development and lauded the dedication of health personnel, especially those operating within the Moro Local Government Area.
“I must also appreciate the proactiveness of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Taoheed Abdullahi Ayodeji, for his dedication and tireless support in the fight against these diseases,” she added.
Earlier at the program, Dr. Taoheed Abdullahi Ayodeji and the Head of the Department of Health in Moro Local Government, Mr. Muhammad Nda-Woga, sensitized residents on the symptoms and prevention of TB, Leprosy, and Buruli Ulcer. They advised the public to seek professional medical care rather than resort to local treatments or attach superstitions to the diseases.
In his remarks, the First Gentleman of Moro Local Government, Mallam Abdulwasiu Uthman Bolaji, expressed appreciation to the First Lady of Kwara State for championing the campaign against TB and other infectious diseases. He also commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Executive Chairperson Alhaja Mariam Omotayo, and the 15 wives of other Local Government Executive Chairmen in the state for their collective support in ensuring the success of the program.
He urged residents to take advantage of the free screening and testing services being provided, emphasizing that early detection and treatment are critical in managing the diseases.
Also speaking at the event, the Speaker of the Moro Legislative Council, Mrs. Adelodun Ramat, and Alhaja Dupe Yahaya who spoke on behalf of the 15 spouses of other Executive Chairpersons of Local Government Areas in Kwara State encouraged members of the community to fully embrace the opportunity for free diagnosis and treatment. They also applauded the Governor, the First Lady, and the Moro Local Government leadership for their health-focused initiatives.
Others present at the event included the Vice Chairman of Moro Local Government, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Adaara; all Heads of Departments in the council; the Kwara State TB Campaign Team; and health workers from across the local government area.
