The President of the FIFA’s Gianni Infantino said to increase the number of team to Participate in the FIFA world cup tournament to 48.
FIFA’s president Gianni Infantino has confirmed that FIFA is set to increase the number teams to participate in the FIFA World Cup tournament from 32 to 48.
Infantino made this statement at a press conference at the Al Thumama stadium in Doha.
He however note that the increase will take effect from 2026 FIFA World Cup which is to be hosted by the United States of America (USA), Mexico and Canada.
The president thanked the organisers of the 2022 FIFA world cup in Qatar, noting that it has been the best so far, he added that the spectators would tell the stories of their experience about Qatar compared to what other countries have reported about them.
