Exposed: Tactics to Fabricate a Rift Between Governor AbdulRazaq and Emir of Ilorin by 2027 Gubernatorial Aspirant Unraveled

2 min read

A covert strategy allegedly orchestrated by the media team of Mallam Saliu Mustapha, a 2027 governorship aspirant, to create an artificial conflict between Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Emir of Ilorin, HRH Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has been brought to light.

The alleged scheme, which has been labeled as fake news by both Mallam Saliu Mustapha’s camp and Bukola Saraki’s media team, was traced to a WhatsApp group named “MSM Titan.” Evidence reveals that the message in question originated from a member of Mallam Saliu Mustapha’s Think-Tank team who also serves as an admin in the group. The message was circulated on Monday, January 20, 2025, and later deleted under instructions from the Kwara Central Senator’s media team after it had gained traction.

Investigations revealed that the same WhatsApp admin has been replicating the group under different local government names to propagate similar narratives. Sources indicate that this is part of a broader plan to create disunity within the Ilorin Emirate by fabricating imaginary issues between the Emir’s Palace and the Kwara State Government.

Observers have noted that this approach mirrors a campaign of defamation employed in 2003 against the late Governor Mohammed Lawal, which sought to create divisions within the Emirate. However, attempts to repeat this strategy against the Emir of Ilorin and Governor AbdulRazaq appear to be failing, as many have recognized the tactics as malicious and baseless.

Citizens and stakeholders in the Ilorin Emirate are being urged to remain vigilant and expose any attempt to manipulate public opinion or undermine the Emir of Ilorin, who serves as the Chairman of the Council of Chiefs and a key supporter of Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration.

Evidence supporting these allegations has been attached for public scrutiny.

This revelation underscores the need for the electorate to discern between genuine political discourse and deliberate misinformation aimed at stirring division and gaining undue sympathy.
