Engr Abdullahi Hashim Commends President Tinubu on NNPCL Appointments

Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr Abdullahi Hashim, has praised President Bola Tinubu for appointing Engr Bayo Ojulari as Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) and Engr Ahmadu Kida as non-executive chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

Hashim described the appointments as timely and strategic, citing the wealth of engineering, technical, and leadership experience both men bring to the national oil company. He expressed confidence in the new management team’s ability to achieve the President’s ambitious goals for the oil and gas sector.

The seasoned engineer emphasized the need for progress at the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries, as well as the swift completion of the Kaduna Refinery’s rehabilitation. He welcomed the President’s directive for a strategic review of NNPCL’s assets to maximize value.

Hashim noted that the appointments reflect global best practices in energy sector governance, with Ojulari and Kida being seasoned professionals with impressive track records. He expects their leadership to drive NNPCL towards greater transparency, efficiency, and profitability.

With their combined experience, Hashim believes Ojulari and Kida can reposition NNPCL and optimize Nigeria’s oil and gas assets. He expressed confidence that the new management team will meet targets and take NNPCL to greater heights.
