Dangote Refinery to Roll Out 4,000 CNG Tankers for Fuel Distribution Nationwide Starting August

1 min read

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a major initiative aimed at transforming Nigeria’s fuel distribution system, set to commence on August 15, 2025.

In a statement issued on Sunday and made available to The Nation, the refinery revealed that it will begin distributing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel to marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecom companies, aviation stakeholders, and other large-scale users across the country. As part of the initiative, Dangote will offer free logistics support to strengthen its national distribution network.

To facilitate the smooth rollout, the refinery has invested in the procurement of 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers. This deployment marks the first phase of the program, which is expected to span a significant period.

In addition, the refinery is investing in CNG filling stations—commonly known as daughter booster stations—backed by a fleet of over 100 CNG tankers strategically located across the country to ensure seamless product delivery.
