The Barrister Salome Bake Kisira Foundation has announced plans to roll out a mega empowerment program targeting farmers, aged persons, and less-privileged individuals across Baruten Local Government Area.
The initiative, scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Kosubosu, the headquarters of Baruten LGA, is aimed at providing direct support to beneficiaries from various communities within the local government. According to the Foundation, the program is a continuation of its commitment to uplifting vulnerable populations and contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic growth of the state.
This latest intervention is designed to complement the poverty alleviation efforts of the Executive Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, who has been widely praised for his consistent dedication to improving the lives of the people, especially the most marginalized.
The Foundation had earlier organized a successful cash empowerment program a few months ago, which focused on aged women across all political wards in Baruten LGA. That event was held in memory of the founder’s late father, Elder Peter Kisira, a former Deputy Governor of Kwara State. The upcoming program builds on that success and expands its reach to include farmers and other less-privileged individuals.
Barrister Salome Bake Kisira, the founder of the Foundation, is widely recognized for her philanthropic initiatives and tireless efforts in supporting women and agricultural communities. A native of Baruten and daughter of the late Elder Peter Kisira, she has continued to honor her father’s legacy of selfless service and grassroots development through impactful community-focused projects.
Residents and stakeholders across Baruten LGA are expected to attend the empowerment event, which promises to deliver meaningful assistance to those in need and further strengthen the foundation’s mission of creating lasting change.
