Angry Mob Runs Riot At Oloje Over Killing Of Trader At Site.

Angry mob runs riot at the Alapa/Okolowo/Oloje axis of Ilorin on Thursday morning following the death of a trader identified as Abdullahi Popular at one of his site.

The trader who was said to be killed in his site by some thugs called ologbo who were trying to extort him at his site of which he refused to offer them, triggered the early riot in the capital of the state of harmony.

Abdullah who has to be a member of Kwara State Spare Association Ipata Oloje , was triggered by ologbo and his gang, along the okolowo/ mandala. which claim the life of demise.

A resident who pleaded anonimity, said before the riot some residents of oloje went to the oloje police station at idi ogede to report the case of murder to aid the arrest of his killers, before the riot started, he also added that police officers were not available to restore calm in the affected community during the riot.

According to a press release from the state police public relations officer SP Ajayi Okasanmi, the individual, who’s identity and cause of death is still sketchy is uncalled for and must not be encouraged.

He noted that Full-Scale investigation into the matter has been ordered by the Commissioner of Police, Cp Tuesday Assayomo psc, adding that Policemen have been dispatched to the affected areas to restore calm, he also said that detailed ivestigation report will be made available to the public as soon as it is available,

Okansami, however, adviced the public, especially residents in the affected community to be cautious as they go about with their lawful businesses, and report any suspicious activities in their area to the police as sanity is gradually returning to the communities.
