OPay, a leading Nigerian financial institution, has awarded scholarships to 20 outstanding students of Kwara State Polytechnic as part of its ₦1.2 billion, 10-year national scholarship initiative. Each student will receive ₦300,000 to support their education, marking the first polytechnic to benefit from the program.

The initiative aims to ease the financial burden of tertiary education, targeting 400 students annually across universities and polytechnics. OPay’s Managing Director and CEO, Dauda Gotring, emphasized the company’s long-term vision, saying, “Our scholarship support is to ensure that the dreams of talented scholars do not die.”

Kwara State Polytechnic’s Rector, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, thanked OPay for bringing the scholarship to the institution, noting its significant impact on the students’ academic pursuits. The program’s expansion to KwaraPoly underscores OPay’s commitment to inclusive, nationwide impact, ensuring that financial limitations do not hinder talented students from achieving their dreams.

As the scholarship program grows, more students from diverse educational backgrounds will benefit, equipping them with the tools to excel academically and contribute meaningfully to society.
